The premium zones are closed for Monsoon session

Ranthambhore June 29, 2017|

After long confusion, eventually the premium zones (1 to 5) of Ranthambhore Park are closed for the safari in Monsoon session as usual. But Jungle safari is still continuing in critical tiger habitat from zone no. 6 to 10 in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve after the forest department ordered on Wednesday. Sources said that the same decision is made for Sariska Tiger Reserve. That means a few part of Sariska Tiger Reserve is opened for tourists in Rainy session. Which part of Sariska park is opened for tourists, we need to wait for it.

Earlier, Rajasthan Forest Department decided to keep all ten zones of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and Sariska Tiger Reserve open even during Rainy session. Usually, the tiger Reserve has a closing period from July to September every year due to courtship time for the wild animals along with being a time for rainfall on continue intervals; the park’s authority had made it mandatory to keep the zones closed for the visitors for 3 months in a year.

Due to the world best tiger sighting place, which has also become the highest revenue grossing tiger reserve in India, the Forest Department has decided to keep reserve open for the visitors even during the monsoon season. But, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and several wildlife activities are considered it a violation of nature. As per the wildlife conservation body and enthusiasts, the courtship period of the wild animals will be unnecessarily interrupted by the regular visits of the tourists during Rainy time. The NTCA also criticized the Forest Department for not complying with its rules that say ‘tiger reserves should be kept closed for 3-5 months in a year.’

The park would be opened or not for monsoon time, it was pending decision. Therefore so many visitors were confused on it. Now it is clear, the premium zones (1 to 5) of Ranthambhore Park are closed for the safari in Monsoon session as usual. But Jungle safari is still continuing in critical tiger habitat from zone no. 6 to 10 in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve after the forest department ordered on Wednesday.
